How To Prevent Attacks From Machete-Wielding Friends And Family

Last updated on April 5, 2013

machete3So, what’s one of the first things you learn when you join a network marketing company? Make a contact list of everyone  you know…

That’s right, contact all your friends and family to let them know of your new venture…

But, Why Talk To Your Friends and Family?

Well, why not?

If you won’t talk to your friends and family about your network marketing opportunity, then who are you going to talk to when you launch your new business – your enemies? I absolutely believe that you have to market and establish a steady flow of new prospects… But, if you won’t talk to those you know – at some point, someone else will.

At least take the approach of letting them know that you’re involved in a new business. Put them on notice. That should be easy – no pressure. This is not a hardcore selling business anyways. So, if you just let your friends and family know that you’re now in a network marketing company, then your job is done! In fact, I believe you have an obligation to let them know. You don’t have to try to recruit them or sell product – just let them know. Otherwise… [Continue reading]

Two Important Steps for Getting Started Quickly in Network Marketing

Last updated on March 30, 2013

Network Marketing StepsWhen you join a network marketing company, it is critical to hit the ground running and get started quickly…

At a minimum, you will want to recoup your distributor fee so that you can break even. Next, you will want to do enough business to cover your monthly product expense…

In addition to getting started fast, as a distributor, you want to keep things simple for those team members you introduce to your network marketing opportunity. Simple steps and quick results will help keep your attrition rate down. As such, you want make sure you communicate these two important concepts to those you bring into the business. Those two concepts – the key for getting off to a fast start – are: following a system and leveraging your leaders.

Following The System

There will no doubt be a system in place when you join your network marketing company. If there is no system in place that you can follow in order to grow your business, you have two choices. You can reconsider the company or team you have joined, or you can create your own system. Whichever your choice, just make sure you follow a system as you build your network marketing business.

Joining a network marketing company is like getting a franchise without all the overhead, franchise fees, and outrageous startup fees. The similarity can be found in the “blueprint”. There is (or should be) a step by step method you can follow or put in place to operate your business.

The benefits of this are that you can spend your time following proven techniques and get to work as soon as you sign up with the company, as opposed to wondering aimlessly about what you should do next. So, if you want to get started quickly, make sure you follow a system.

Leverage The Leaders

The second most important thing you can do to get started quickly is use your leadership (“upline”)…

If your upline is new in the business, use their upline. The point is to leverage the experience that others have had in the company when you are exposing prospects to the products or business opportunity. You do this by engaging your upline in 3-way calls or 2 on 1 presentations.

When you get started with your network marketing company, you will probably not be able to explain all the products or the basics of the compensation plan within the first few days. So if you want to get started fast, the best thing you can do, besides inviting them to view an exposure tool, is to expose your prospects to the opportunity by introducing them to your upline. Put them  to work as you become more and more comfortable with the business.

Getting started in network marketing does not have to be frustrating. When you follow a system and use your upline you will begin to see results quickly in your business. Follow these two tips and get going fast!
